We're Sharing Jesus in 2010!
Our missions team has returned from Guatemala. Several memebers worked in the construction of two Sunday school classrooms at the Horeb Church in Puruhla, Guatemala. Others served in a dental clinici that was set up in the church as an outreach ministry for the community. Your missions offering paid for construction materials and the hotel, lodging and food expenses of the nine members from Lincoln Park Baptist who went. Deacon Selection Process
In July of each year during the regular church business meting, each member present may nominate three men for the office of deacon. At the regular September business meeting the names of qualified nominees as reported by the deacon body shall be placed on a ballot and each member present may vote for five candidates. The five men with the highest number of votes will be elected to serve for three years beginning with the new church year on October 1. Requirements for the position of deacon as prescribed in the church bylaws are posted on the church's Web site.

A Short Break for our Interim Pastor
Interim Pastor John Holland and his wife Pat will take some time off to relax and rest. Their break will begin July 8 and will end September 7. During that time, the Rev. Grant Bishop, retired pastor of City View Baptist Church, will preach each Sunday morning and evening and will lead the Wednesday prayer meeting.

Join Our Choir!
It's a great time to join or return to our worship choir. Rehearsal is Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. See you there!.

Haiti Earthquake Relief
Our special relief offering collected $876 that has already been forwarded to the North American Mission Board. Southern Baptists have already raised enough to send 150,000 "Buckets of Hope" to Haiti. A gift of $40 will pay for the food to fill a five-gallon bucket with enough food to feed a Haitian family for a week, plus ship it to Haiti. Churches in the Knox County Association of Baptists have sent 717 buckets.

More information about Southern Baptist Convention's response to the Haiti earthquake is available on the Web site for the Northern American Mission Board. You can also send your Haiti relief offering through that Web site. For details about how you can pray for Haiti, click here.

Lost something? We have several items in the office that have been turned in. Stop by and see if something belongs to you. Items not claimed will be donated.

Bring Us Your Old Sunday School Literature
If you have used or unused Sunday school literature, please turn it in to the church office so we can provide it to a local group that distributes it to churches that can't purchase their own.
