Missions in our Neighborhood
We work to share the Good News
of Jesus Christ and show Christ's love right here in
our community. We collect and distribute school supplies
for students in need at local elementary schools and
we operate a food pantry for the needy.
Dozens of local teens are active in
our youth ministries, where they can serve on mission
projects, participate in Bible study retreats, and participate
in in-depth studies during a week-long Bible camp in
the summer.
Missions
in the U.S.A.
In 2007, our youth returned for
the second year to the Appalachian region of Kentucky
to help in home construction, backyard Bible clubs and
witnessing.
In 2006 we sent a team to the Gulfport,
Mississippi, area to lend a hand with hurricane recovery.
Our people served with thousands of other volunteers
organized by the Tennessee
Baptist Convention and the Knox
County Baptist Association to help those whose homes
were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Missions
Around the World
Our work in Russia was launched
last year when one of our members traveled there to
serve as part of a team that ministered to special needs
children. This year, she will be joined by a second
member of our church.
For the summer of 2008, our
sixth team of volunteer missionaries to Guatemala is
preparing for a week of evangelism, church construction
and ministries intended to encourage the local pastors
who lead churches in the north central part of the country.
In the years since this work started in 2002, our members
have helped build churches, preached, delivered school
supplies and worked in door-to-door evangelism.
If you have a heart for missions,
perhaps Lincoln Park Baptist is where you belong!
